Indians Back in Win Column, Beat GC 15-5

Jose Caballero drove in six on three hits to lead Chipola (30-7, 11-3) past Gulf Coast State 15-5 on Thursday. Caballero drove in runs on a grand slam in the third and a home run in the seventh.

Chipola grabbed an early lead. They scored on a sac fly by Bechtold and single by Brody Wofford in the first inning.

The Indians scored six runs in the eighth inning. It was driven by a double by Cole McKissock, a home run by Te'Kwaan Whyte, a double by Jacob Silverstein, and a groundout by Bechtold.

Riley Cabral (8-0) earned the win. He went seven innings, giving up two runs, two hits, and striking out 11. He carried a no-hitter into the seventh.

Home runs for Chipola Indians came when Jose Caballero homered in the third and seventh innings and Whyte homered in the eighth inning. 

Chipola had 13 hits in the game. CaballeroSilversteinWofford, and Whyte each collected multiple hits.

The Indians are back in action tomorrow at 1pm in Marianna against Gulf Coast. Reminder, tomorrow is Little League Day at the ballpark. Wear your uniform to the game and receive free admission!
