With tonight's win over Pensacola State, the Indians have clinched their fifth-straight Panhandle Conference Championship and an automatic berth to the Region VIII/FCSAA tournament.
CHIPOLA Indians stole the lead late and defeated Pensacola State College 10-5 on Monday. The game was tied at three with CHIPOLA Indians batting in the top of the eighth when Julio Carrion homered on a 1-2 count, scoring three runs.
Pensacola State College fired up the offense in the second inning. Foreman doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Floyd toed the rubber for Pensacola State College. He lasted six innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out five. Ginn and Davenport entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and one inning respectively.
CHIPOLA Indians tallied 12 hits on the day. Jordan Hollins, Carrion, Francisco Urbaez, and Bates each racked up multiple hits for CHIPOLA Indians. Bates, Urbaez, Carrion, and Hollinseach collected two hits to lead CHIPOLA Indians.
Pensacola State College tallied 11 hits in the game. McGlamry, Foreman, and Rivers each collected multiple hits for Pensacola State College. McGlamry led Pensacola State College with three hits in four at bats.
