Sanderson Leads Indians Past Santa Fe

Chipola beat Santa Fe 4-1 in tonight's second round of the FCSAA State Tournament. 

Phillip Sanderson pitched the Indians to victory. He lasted nine innings, allowing seven hits and one run while striking out nine and walking one.

Hemenway started the game for Santa Fe. He lasted six and a third innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out seven. Jones and Paul entered the game as relief, throwing one and one-third innings and one-third of an inning respectively.

Chipola totaled seven hits. Max GuzmanEdmond Americaan, and Julio Carrion all had multiple hits for the Indians. CarrionAmericaan, and Guzman each collected two hits to lead Chipola.

Santa Fe totaled seven hits in the game. Westbrook and Eyster all managed multiple hits for Santa Fe.

The Indians advance in the winners bracket and will face State College of Florida tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. EST/3:00 p.m. CST.
