Baseball Picks Up Two Wins Against Eagles

The Indians picked up two wins in today's doubleheader vs. Tallahasse. 

Game 1:

Chipola College Indians Varsity defeated Tallahassee CC 2-0 on Saturday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Andrew Baker induced a groundout from Wright to finish off the game.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Chipola College Indians Varsity pitchers struck out 13, while Forester sat down five.

Chipola College Indians Varsity got things started in the first inning when Chipola College Indians Varsity scored one run on a stolen base.

A single by Ray in the third inning was a positive for Tallahassee CC.

Jacob Smith got the win for Chipola College Indians Varsity. He allowed one hit and zero runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out 13. Baker threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen. Baker recorded the last out to earn the save for Chipola College Indians Varsity.

Forester took the loss for Tallahassee CC. He went six innings, allowing two runs on six hits, striking out five and walking zero.

Game 2:

Chipola College Indians Varsity nabbed the lead late in the game in a 3-2 victory over Tallahassee CC on Saturday. The game was tied at two with Chipola College Indians Varsitybatting in the bottom of the sixth when Corey Rosier grounded out, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Chipola College Indians Varsity pitchers struck out eight, while Tallahassee CC pitchers sat down four.

Tallahassee CC got things moving in the first inning, when Lacey singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

Chipola College Indians Varsity evened things up at two in the bottom of the fifth inning. Jozsef Rohrbacher drove in one when he singled.

Andrew Moore led things off on the hill for Chipola College Indians Varsity. He surrendered two runs on seven hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out five.

Baldor was on the mound for Tallahassee CC. He went four and a third innings, allowing two runs on five hits, striking out three and walking one. Martin and Lacey entered the game as relief, throwing one inning and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

Julio Carrion went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Chipola College Indians Varsity in hits. Chipola College Indians Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field. Rohrbacher had nine chances in the field, the most on the team.

Tallahassee CC saw the ball well today, racking up nine hits in the game. LaceyLomack, and Jeffcoat all managed multiple hits for Tallahassee CC.

The two teams are back in action on Tuesday in Tallahasee at 5:00 p.m. EST/4:00 p.m. CST.
