The Indians ten-run comeback wasn't enough as they fell 20-12 to Cowley in today's NJCAA Juco World Series game.
After Cowley took an 11-1 lead, Chipola tied the game in the bottom of the sixth.
The game was tied at 12 with Cowley batting in the top of the seventh when Specht singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.
Larsen was on the mound for Cowley. He went four innings, allowing four runs on three hits and striking out three.
Gray toed the rubber for Chipola College Indians Varsity. He went two and a third innings, allowing five runs on five hits, striking out one and walking one. Michael Cullen, Jacob Smith, Andrew Baker, and Robert Bennett each entered the game as relief, throwing two and two-thirds innings, two innings, one and one-third innings, and two-thirds of an inning respectively.
Chipola College Indians Varsity racked up 12 hits on the day. Gray, Jordan Anderson, and Julio Carrion each had multiple hits for Chipola College Indians Varsity. Gray led Chipola College Indians Varsity with four hits in five at bats.
The loss eliminates the Indians from the Juco World Series. Chipola finishes the season with a 38-20 record and a NJCAA Region VIII/FCSAA State Championship.
