Indians Beat Raiders, Advance in State Tournament

The Indians defeated Northwest Florida State 6-3 in tonight's state tournament contest.

Chipola College Indians Varsity scored on a sacrifice fly by Corey Rosier in the first inning, a home run by Connor Kehl in the second inning, and a single by Rosier in the second inning.

Chipola College Indians Varsity pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Kehl hit a solo homer and Rosier singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Chipola College Indians Varsity notched three runs in the third inning. Kehl and Jordan Anderson all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Andrew Moore was the winning pitcher for Chipola College Indians Varsity. He lasted four innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out six. Andrew Baker threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Baker recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Chipola College Indians Varsity.

Kush was on the hill for Northwest Florida State. He allowed eight hits and six runs over two and a third innings, striking out four. Stephens threw six and two-thirds innings in relief.

Robert Bennett started the game for Chipola College Indians Varsity. He allowed three hits and three runs over three innings, striking out six and walking one

With the win, Chipola earns a guarantee bid to the championship game for the fourth-straight year. Tomorrow they will take on State College of Florida at 4:00 p.m.  EST/3:00 p.m. CST.
