Indians Take Down Raiders in Comeback Win

Chipola College Indians Varsity nabbed the lead late in the game in a 12-10 victory over Northwest Florida State on Monday. The game was tied at ten with Chipola College Indians Varsity batting in the bottom of the eighth when Daniel Cerda singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Chipola College Indians Varsity earned the victory despite allowing Northwest Florida State to score seven runs in the second inning. Northwest Florida State's big inning was driven by home runs by Polcovich and Randa, a sac fly by Johnson, and a groundout by Thompson.

Northwest Florida State opened up scoring in the second inning, when Thompson grounded out, scoring one run.

Chipola College Indians Varsity knotted the game up at ten in the bottom of the sixth inning, when Michael Cullen grounded out, scoring two runs.

After Northwest Florida State scored two runs in the top of the third, Chipola College Indians Varsity answered with two of their own. Northwest Florida State scored when Thompsonhomered on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs. Chipola College Indians Varsity then answered when Cameron Gray doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.

Chipola College Indians Varsity put up four runs in the sixth inning. Ivan JohnsonAlex Arauz, and Cullen all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Andrew Baker was the winning pitcher for Chipola College Indians Varsity. He went four innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out six. Robert Bennett threw three and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Starnes started the game for Northwest Florida State. He allowed five hits and four runs over three innings, striking out four. Hunt and Bailey entered the game from the bullpen, throwing three innings and two innings respectively.

Jose Visaez started the game for Chipola College Indians Varsity. He lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and six runs while striking out one

Chipola College Indians Varsity hit one home run on the day. Johnson had a four bagger in the second inning.
