The Indians suffered their first loss of the season on Sunday as they fell to Palm Beach State. The final score was 88-83.
After a strong showing on Saturday afternoon, Chipola played flat in the first half of the contest and trailed by 10 points at the intermission. They came out strong in the second half and made many runs, but could never take the lead.
"Hats off to Palm Beach. I thought they outplayed us," said Coach Brendan Foley. "Our guys showed some fight in the second half to battle back, but we put ourselves in a tough position. I think we'll learn and grow from this game."
Bitumba Baruti led Chipola in scoring with 19 points. Keishawn Brewton and Daniel Oladapo both had 16 points and Malik Zachery had 13 points.
The Indians move to 11-1 on the season and are back at home on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. CST as they host the Red Devil Academy.
