Last night the Chipola softball team had a thrilling win over North Central Texas.
Trailing 3-2 entering the bottom of the 7th, Megan Morgan hit a single down the third base line to score Ashley Morris and tie the game 3-3. Barbara Woll then hit a walk-off two run homer to win the game in dramatic fashion.
Chipola Associate Head Coach Jimmy Hendrix summed up his Indian's win following the game.
"Before the delay we were bad," he said, "but after... they were good."
Hendrix said his freshman dominant squad used the delay to gather themselves and refocus. His squad trailed 2-1 at when the lightning came, but outscored North Central Texas 4-1 over the final three inning following the delay to earn a spot in the second round.
They will be back at it today at 3:30 PM CST as they take on Central Arizona.
