Chipola College faced the Northwest Florida State Lady Raiders on the road yesterday evening and would go on to defeat them 13-2.
The game was a good defensive effort with the score remaining tied all the way up until the top of the 5th. The Lady Indians would then completely dominate the game and punch in 11 total runs in the top of the 5th inning, which ended the game early due to the run rule.
The defense was sensational with their tough effort.
Amy Woodham and Morgan Goree saw the action on the mound and they pitched gracefully combining for a total of six strikeouts with three a piece. Woodham only allowed one earned run and four hits. Goree allowed zero hits and zero earned runs.
Brooke Farrow, Candela Figueroa, Jordenne Gaten and Bobbie Morris all had impressive at-bats putting runners in scoring position and driving them in. Grampp and Morris would lead the day with two hits a piece.
Chipola moves to 43-0 on the seaon and 15-0 in conference play.
The Lady Indians next game will be on the April 14 against Pensacola State College. There will be one game at 1:00 p.m. CST and will be the Lady Indians Sophomore Night. The sophomore ceremony will take place after the game.
