Softball Hosts Visit Dothan Invitational

Chipola started the Invitational off by beating Salt Lake, the #2 team in the nation, 1-0.

The contest was a fight for the first three innings and both teams struggled to get on base. However, the offensive willpower could not be contained and Ally Clegg got in position to score in the top of the 4th inning. Following that, Sydney Mclain was able to power her in with a deep sacrifice fly ball that helped get the Lady Indians on the board and scalp the Bruins.

The defense was led by sophomore pitcher Krystal Goodman, who had 11 K’s and pitched the entire game giving up zero runs and allowing only two hits. She remained tireless and showed no signs of weakness throughout the contest. The defense was backing her up with their impeccable play in the infield and outfield.

The Lady Indians went on to defeat Gordon State College (8-0), Indian River State College (10-2), Meridian Community College (8-0), and Costal Alabama-South (8-3). The wins move them to 10-0 on the season.

They will be back in action at home on Tuesday, February 13, as they host Thomasville University JV for a doubleheader starting at 4:00 PM CST.
