CHIPOLA Indians wins contest against Gulf Coast State College, 10-5
CHIPOLA Indians got on the board in the first inning when Morgan McCullough grounded out, scoring one run.
CHIPOLA Indians pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third Max Guzman's sac fly scored one run for CHIPOLA Indians, an error scored one run for CHIPOLA Indians, and Jonathan Nieves singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.
Andrew Grogan earned the win for CHIPOLA Indians. He allowed nine hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking one. Jack Dellinger and Jared Howell entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Kilcrease led things off on the hill for Gulf Coast State College. He lasted seven and a third innings, allowing 14 hits and ten runs while striking out three. Greenich threw two-thirds of an inning in relief.
CHIPOLA Indians collected 15 hits on the day. Edmond Americaan, Howell, Guzman, Nieves, and Alex Webb all collected multiple hits for CHIPOLA Indians. Howell and Americaan each collected three hits to lead CHIPOLA Indians.
Gulf Coast State College racked up 11 hits on the day. Heffron, Nowak, and Koonce each managed multiple hits for Gulf Coast State College. Heffron went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Gulf Coast State College in hits.
