Chipola Indians Go 4–0 at The Visit Panama City Beach Classic
Panama City Beach, Fla. — The 2026 Chipola Indians completed a perfect week at the Visit Panama City Beach Classic, finishing 4–0 with victories over State College of Florida, John A. Logan, Eastern Florida State College, and Pearl River.
Chipola opened the tournament with a 3–2 win over State College of Florida in a pitcher's duel. Drew Colon earned the win after allowing one run on two hits over four innings. The Indians took the lead in the third inning on RBI singles by Michal Sindelka and Peryn Bland. Hutson Trobaugh recorded the save, while Peryn Bland drove in two runs and Michal Sindelka added two hits.
Later that day, Chipola outlasted John A. Logan 7–6 in extra innings. The Indians built a four-run lead in the first inning behind run-scoring hits from Colin Guerra and Kane Moye. Colin Guerra added a solo home run in the fifth inning. After John A. Logan tied the game in the sixth, Chipola regained the lead in the 10th inning on an error and a Peryn Bland RBI groundout. Vladil Baldepina earned the win in relief, while Colin Guerra finished 2-for-5 with three RBIs and two stolen bases.
On Friday, Chipola defeated Eastern Florida State College 5–4. Colin Guerra delivered a two-run home run in the first inning, and Peryn Bland added a sacrifice fly to give the Indians an early advantage. Cannon Feazell picked up the win, and Ashton Alston recorded the save with scoreless relief appearances from Brady Brock, Andrew Hammock, and Asher Sabom. Chipola stole six bases in the victory, led by Nick Croce.
The Indians closed the classic with a 7–3 win over Pearl River. After trailing in the middle innings, Chipola erupted for five runs in the seventh inning, highlighted by a grand slam from Kane Moye. Tyler Correa homered earlier in the game, and Joey Ervin dominated in relief, striking out six batters over 2⅔ scoreless innings to earn the win. Colin Guerra and Jeremiah Gary each recorded two hits in the finale.
