#8 Chipola Men's Basketball takes two wins in the Tallahassee Shootout
Chipola Men's Basketball moves to 11-2 on the season after sweeping both games this weekend in Tallahassee.
Tallahassee, FL — Game 1 vs Daytona State — The Chipola Indians battled on Friday night, taking down No. 6–ranked Daytona State in the TSC Florida Shootout with a hard-fought 73–67 victory. The win pushes Chipola to 10–2 on the season.
Chipola controlled the pace early, building a strong 38–23 halftime lead. Daytona State made a late push in the second half, tightening the game down the stretch, but the Indians stayed composed—getting key stops, knocking down late free throws, and maintaining control to seal the win.
Game 2 vs Polk State — The Chipola Indians closed out the TSC Florida Shootout with a dominant performance on Saturday afternoon, defeating Polk State 92–69 and improving to 11–2 on the season.
Chipola came out sharp offensively, sharing the ball and attacking the paint to build a 50–36 halftime lead. The Indians then erupted in the second half, shooting nearly 61% after the break.
Hendrens "JR" Bartelus led the way with 16 points and 6 rebounds, followed closely by Desmond Kent Jr. with 15 points.
Demarco Middleton added 10 points, and freshman guard Maisah Stevens provided a spark with 10 points off the bench.
With back-to-back wins in Tallahassee, the Indians continue to build momentum as they move deeper into December. Chipola returns to action on December 11, traveling to face Gordon State.
