No. 13 Chipola Defeats Pensacola State 71–59

Marianna, Fla. (Feb. 14, 2026) — No. 13 Chipola College continued its strong season with a 71–59 victory over Pensacola State College on Saturday night at The Milton H. Johnson Health Center. The Indians used a balanced offensive attack and strong rebounding to control the game from start to finish.
Chipola jumped out to a 37–27 lead at halftime and maintained its momentum in the second half, outscoring Pensacola State 34–32 to secure the 12-point win. The Indians shot 49.1 percent from the field and converted 77.8 percent of their free throws, while holding Pensacola State to just 59 points overall.
Aaron Richard led Chipola with 16 points, shooting 7-of-9 from the field and adding six rebounds. Hedrens Bartelus posted a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds, while also dishing out five assists and recording a steal and a block. Bryson Berry added 10 points, including two three-pointers, and Demarco Middleton and Peyton Wiggins each chipped in nine points to round out the balanced scoring effort.
Chipola dominated the glass and generated multiple second-chance opportunities with 15 offensive rebounds. The Indians also recorded 12 assists, helping maintain control throughout the contest.
Pensacola State struggled to find consistent offense against Chipola's defense and could not overcome the early deficit. Despite a competitive second half, the Pirates were unable to close the gap in the final minutes.
Chipola travels to play Top 10 rival Gulf Coast State on Wednesday at 7:30PM CT.
