Chipola College Recognizes Sophomores During April 19 Doubleheader Sweep
Chipola has now won 11 or their last 12 games.
Chipola College recognized its sophomore student-athletes on Sunday, April 19, 2026, during a pregame Sophomore Day ceremony held in conjunction with a doubleheader against the Thomas University Night Hawks team.
The ceremony honored second-year players for their contributions to the softball program, including their athletic performance, academic progress, and leadership. Family members, coaches, and supporters attended.
Chipola won both games of the doubleheader. The Indians defeated Thomas JV 18–2 in five innings in Game 1, and 13–6 in Game 2.
"Sophomore Day provides an opportunity to recognize the work and progress of these student-athletes," said Kelly Brookins.
This is a special group of sophomore this year and they have come on strong here at the end of the season winning 11 or their last 12 games. Chipola Softball finished 2nd in the Panhandle Conference and has already punched their ticket to the state tournament.
