Bio

Kyle Herring begins his second year as an assistant coach at Chipola College. Herring comes to Chipola after spending one year at Clarksville Academy where he was assistant coach.

Prior to his stint at Clarksville Academy, Herring spent three years as an assistant coach with Cumberland University.  At Cumberland, Herring served as recruiting coordinator as well as working with both guards and posts and scouting opponents. 

Herring was an assistant coach for the 2008-09 season at Alcorn State in Lorman, Miss., where he oversaw all facets of team travel and equipment needs and aided the Braves in recruiting, daily development of post players, scouting upcoming opponents and implementing offensive schemes.

 He spent the 2007-08 season as an assistant at Frank Phillips College in Borger, Texas, where the Plainsmen posted a 21-9 mark. Herring assisted in all aspects of recruiting, game planning and scouting, and implementing and execution of practice as well as assisting with eligibility at FPC.

Herring served three seasons at Southeastern Illinois College in Harrisburg, Ill. The Lady Falcons posted a 93-13 mark during Herring’s tenure, including three consecutive undefeated conference seasons and three straight trips to the NJCAA National Tournament, including a pair of Elite Eight appearances and one fifth-place finish.

The Harrisburg, IL native received his associate degree at SIC and graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2007 with a bachelor’s in Liberal Studies. He was a three-year varsity letterwinner at Harrisburg High School, with HHS posting a 68-26 mark with an Elite Eight appearance and a Sweet 16 showing in the state tournament. He also lettered two years in football and three years in track, advancing to the state meet once.
